Allright, school's up again, time to take on my final year before graduating. B)
I've always wanted a Totoro plushie for my own, but I've never found any that I could get my hands on cheaply or any that looked the way I wanted.
And what do you do when you can't buy what you want?
You make one yourself!
After some looking around I found this great pattern+tutorial. The only problem was that the pattern was made for felt or fleece, and the fabric I had was grey faux fur... But it managed to work pretty well anyway.
The belly is made of white faux fur. (of much lesser quality than the grey, but it works...) The feet/claws and whiskers are made of black leather from an old couch, eyes are felt (and a little bit of white paint) and the nose is one of those button-like noses found on most plush toys. (taken from an old plush of mine) Finally I just painted the belly markings with a grey ink pen.
I guess it took about... 4-5 days to make?
It may be a very flawed plush, but...
I love it.
